As the weather starts to warm up and the days get longer, spring is the perfect time to hit the reset button on your home. After a long winter spent mostly indoors, it’s natural to accumulate clutter and allow your space to become stagnant. However, with a few simple steps, you can refresh your home and create a space that feels light, airy, and welcoming.

Resetting your home for spring doesn’t have to be a daunting task. In fact, it can be an enjoyable and rewarding process that helps you feel more energized and inspired. By decluttering, organizing, and adding some fresh touches, you can transform your home into a space that supports your well-being.

Spring is a time to shed the old and welcome the new. In this blog, we’ll explore some practical tips and strategies for doing a spring reset. By following these tips, you can tap into the energy and vitality of this time of the year, and create a sense of renewal and rejuvenation in your life.

Reset

The changing of the seasons make this the perfect time to reset your space. Decluttering and organizing your home fosters a relaxing environment that allows you to be your best self. These tips will help you bring “tidy home, tidy mind” to life:
  • When cleaning your space, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. To help, try limiting yourself to one room at a time.

  • When you’re getting started, separate everything you see into piles based on 5 categories: trash, dishes, laundry, things that don’t have a place, and things with a place that aren’t in their place. By separating everything into these categories, you are able to organize the space itself, making it easier to focus when cleaning. With focus, you’re able to clearly visualize the things that were cluttering your space, speeding up the process for putting things away, and helping you decide what to get rid of.

  • Ditch the excess clutter. Some common things that tend to clutter your space include old makeup/beauty products, unworn/poor fitting clothes, expired medicine, unnecessary paperwork, and expired kitchen items.

  • Don’t get overwhelmed. Start by setting a timer for 20 minutes. After those 20 minutes are up, take a break and unwind with a cup of Yogi Kava Stress Relief tea, or an energizing cup of  Yogi Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy tea.

  • Get your scrub on with a DIY non-toxic all purpose cleaner. Just mix a 50/50 solution of water + white vinegar in a spray bottle, and you’ve got an affordable and effective non-toxic cleaner. • Wipe down your baseboards and molding. Dust those blinds and any surfaces that aren’t a part of your regular cleaning.

  • Swap out the filters in your air purifier. Time to start fresh!

Rejuvenate

Now that your space is tidy, let’s set the tone for your home by adding some finishing touches. Here are some tips to make your home your haven:
  • Repot and fertilize your plants.

  • Make your home smell like Springtime with a simmer pot! Simmer pots are inexpensive, all natural, non-toxic, and are a great way to use food scraps like excess herbs or fruit peels. Simply fill a saucepan or pot worth water and bring it to a boil. Add the ingredients, boil for a few minutes, then lower to a simmer. Add more water every 30 minutes or so as needed.

  • Celebrate your new clean space with a delicious and aromatic cup of Yogi Honey Lavender Stress Relief tea.

  • Start planting your vegetable garden! It’s the perfect time to plant Kale, Peas, Cabbage, Broccoli, and Peppers.

  • Make your space feel new again by re-arranging furniture, and refreshing your decor.

  • Repaint a room, or switch up the hardware on cabinets and drawers. Simple switches like this can give your space the refresh it needs.
